Jay Lyriq Covers 112 Classic in New Visual ‘Cupid 2.0’

Platinum singer and songwriter Jay Lyriq has premiered the music video for “Cupid 2.0,” his revamped version of 112’s 1997 classic ballad “Cupid.” While Jay’s version uses elements from 112’s original chorus, he rewrote the lyrics for the verses. “Cupid 2.0” is an ode to his lady who supported him throughout the ups and downs in his career. In the music video, Jay Lyriq’s character conveys his appreciation.

The video shows that as a male it’s okay to show vulnerability,” Jay says about the visual produced and directed by RD Multimedia, G3 Media and Filmrat Production. “It’s okay to be in love and express that you are giving your all to someone who gave their all to you.

The song has been well received. In March, Jay was named Hometown Artist of the Month for Tallahassee’s Blazin’ 102.3 FM and opened for K. Michelle at the #BeOutDay event at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU).

Jay is also working on an EP. “I’m excited about the release,” he says.

“I just want people to Listen. Music to me is supposed to have a message. I have one in every song I do. I hope they enjoy it.”
