Angelo Maldonado Jr. is a multifaceted Latino-American talent, transitioning from a background in music and comedy into an actor who has worked with notable names in film and television.

After performing alongside music legends Patti LaBelle and Wyclef Jean on “Last Call with Carson Daily” in 2004, Angelo Maldonado Jr. quickly established himself as a versatile talent across music and acting.

Coming freshly off of the final season of “Raising Kanan,” recurring in two-episode as Jorge.

Before then, Angelo was directed by acclaimed Hollywood figures such as Ridley Scott and Ethan Coen, and shared the screen with an impressive roster of actors including Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Margaret Qualley, Bill Camp, Beanie Feldstein, and Brian Tyree-Henry.

Maldonado Jr. continued to expand his acting repertoire, appearing as Don Lou in “King of Newark 2” in 2018 and as Henrick in “The Fearless Two” in 2019.

Showcasing his comedic timing with an eight-episode run as Self – Exhausted Delivery Guy in the TV series “Danny’s House.

Parallel to his on-screen work, he honed his craft with extensive training, completing comedy improv and stand-up comedy programs at Steelstacks in 2017, and further acting studies at AfterWords Actors Studio in 2018 and The Actors Lab in 2019.

After Angelo‘s father, a Marine veteran and fellow actor, died by suicide in 2017, he began seriously pursuing acting in his 40s to carry forward part of his artistic legacy.

He appeared in Chicago P.D., FBI, Law & Order, Dope Thief, and Ethan Coen‘s Drive-Away Dolls.

Also surviving his own battle with suicidal depression. Founding Mindstate Films, a production company created to develop stories that challenge mental-health stigma.

The first narrative project in development is inspired by his father’s life and struggles.

With a diverse skillset spanning acting, writing, rapping, and comedy.

Angelo Maldonado Jr. continues to build a robust career marked by high-profile collaborations and impactful storytelling across film and television.

Aries from UB caught up with Angelo Maldonado Jr. to talk about his role on the final season of “Raising Kanan.

Angelo also discusses how he got into acting and some of his influences.
