The Midwest‘s official summer kick-off begins on Sunday, May 28th 2017 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on the Midway. This year marks the 10th anniversary of what is now the largest one-day Hip-Hop festival in the world.

Drawing on the fundamental elements of Hip-Hop, Soundset hosts an eclectic lineup of 40+ performers, b-boy and b-girl battles, DJ’s, and live painting exhibitions, as well as a skateboard park with contests, a custom car show and much more.
This year, Atmosphere returns to perform at Soundset after completing an extensive worldwide tour of 78 dates for their 2016 release, Fishing Blues. Travis Scott joins the festival’s lineup on the heels of his sophomore release, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight and the success of his single “Goosebumps” featuring Kendrick Lamar. Celebrated icon and 5-time Grammy award winning Ms. Lauryn Hill brings a very special performance to Soundset with her full live band. Representing for the South, heavy hitters Gucci Mane, T.I. and Kevin Gates willall be making their first Soundset appearances. Mac Miller, a Soundset alum, returns after the success of a U.S. tour and the 2016 release of his fourth studio album, The Divine Feminine. Philadelphia’s bona fide rockstar, Lil Uzi Vert will be returning to Minnesota after a busy winter touring in Europe. One of Hip Hop’s most sought after collaborators and G.O.O.D. Music’spresident,Pusha Twill be joining the festival stage at long last. Rhymesayers own, Brother Ali just announced his latest album All The Beauty In This Whole Life due in stores just before he appears at Soundset. D.R.A.M., riding the wave of his successful debut, Big Baby D.R.A.M. and its multi-platinum single, “Broccoli” brings his magnetic personality to the Soundset stage. Los Angeles-based Ty Dolla $ign joins the lineup with his chart-topping hits blending Hip Hop and R&B, further complementing the diverse sounds showcased at the festival. Minneapolis-bred rapper and producer P.O.S is back in action after receiving a kidney transplant. Revitalized, and without skipping a beat, he released his new album Chill, dummy in January. Saint Paul’s own Allan Kingdom, Bobby Raps, Psymun & Spooky Black all make a rare appearance together at Soundset as the stand4rd. Soundset is honored to have revered and prolific artists Kool Keith and Dan The Automator, performing together as Dr. Octagon. Your favorite producer’s favorite producer, the legendary Pete Rock will be djing Soundset for the very first time. A few breakout artists making their Soundset debut are Portland, Oregon’s Aminé, Harlem’s Dave East and New Jersey native and G.O.O.D Music signee, 070 Shake. As Minnesota natives making their first Soundset appearance, the positive vibes of Mod Sun will be sure to make the crowd smile, while the acclaimed six piece, genre-blending musical vanguard ZULUZULUU will make the Twin Cities proud. The esteemed and multi-talented DJ/MC Sophia Eris, the up-and-coming J. Plaza, and the mesmerizing duo, Nazeem & Spencer Joles will also represent for the Twin Cities.
Back again for his 5th year as the main stage master of ceremonies is radio and television personality Sway Calloway of SiriusXM Shade 45. Additional stages hosted by Heather B of SiriusXM, JPRATT and CROS One.
Soundset Festival boasts a full day of two Main Stages and the Fifth Element stage, delivering over 40 artists performing over ten hours of diverse Hip-Hop music, plus the Essential Elementstent featuring the 4th-annual Freestyle Session Minnesota B-Boy/B-Girl competition. In addition, Ironlak presents this year’s live painting exhibition, bringing some of the world’s most talented visual artists. Full artist lineup to be announced soon!
Also returning will be the 7th-annual Skateboard Showdown presented by Familia, the 10th-annual Soundset Custom Car Show and the Last of the Record Buyers production showcase featuring Astronautica, Illingsworth, Linafornia, hosted by Big Quarters.

Tickets on sale beginning Friday, March 3, 2017, at 11:00 AM Central Standard Time to the general public, available online through soundsetfestival.frontgatetickets.com and in store at Fifth Element (2411 Hennepin Ave S in Minneapolis, MN 55405).
General Admission tickets are $78. VIP tickets also available for $198. (All tickets include facility fee and parking in the ticket price. Must be 18+ to purchase VIP tickets or enter the VIP area.)
