After weeks of speculation, former MySpace Records recording artist MATEO makes a vague, yet public announcement that he is no longer with the label he has been with for the last year and a half. After playing to a nearly sold-out audience at the world famous SOB’S in New York City on December 2nd and a sold out intimate show at Los Angeles’s famous Hotel Café on January 26th, MATEO has kept fairly quiet while in the studio working on his debut album and highly anticipated follow up to his previous mixtape.

The alternative R&B singer/songwriter has continued to receive a lot of buzz with his music being described by UndertheGun.com as “of the Urban movement, mixing pop and alternative with classic R&B.” MATEO quickly rose to notoriety after the release of his first mixtape “Making My Space” and the groundbreaking cinematic mixtape series that followed “Underneath The Sky”. The release of “Get To Know Me: Live at Swing House” in September 2009 has only added to his continuous rise and saw MATEO take his “Get To Know Me” Tour to college campuses around the country in the Fall of 2009. This was followed by the release of MATEO’S first music video “Get To Know Me” which was quickly picked up by MTVU, Fuse, and Music Choice. Mateo is one of Concrete Loop’s “Ones to Watch” and Singers Room “30 Under 30.”
