Karyn White has long been synonymous with strength, vulnerability, and honesty in song.

This song came from clarity,” states Karyn White. “That moment when you finally see a situation for what it is. It’s about knowing when to let go, not out of anger, but out of understanding. I wanted it to feel honest, calm, and confident. Like a realization you come to quietly rather than something you have to prove.

In 1986, Karyn was featured as a vocalist on a Jeff Lorber album called Facts Of Love —that began a buzz that led to her inevitable solo success.

In 1988, her self-titled debut album established her as a leading female voice in contemporary R&B music.

That album was certified Platinum and reached #1 on the Billboard R&B charts.

Karyn White enjoyed another Gold album in 1991, with “Ritual Of Love.”

1994’s critically acclaimed “Make Him Do Right” was her last major label project.

Karyn White‘s last project, the Film and Soundtrack to, “Gale &The Storm,” is a story loosely based on Karyn‘s life.

Karyn White is currently touring, with the 2026 Soul Train Cruise coming up.
