The UB Video Interview: Cassi Davis and Courtney Nichole Talk ‘House of Payne’ & ‘Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living’


New episodes of “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” season eight and “Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living” season two return Tonight, starting at 9 PM ET/PT on BET and BET Her.

The eighth season of the hilarious comedy features retired fire chief Curtis Payne and his lovely wife Ella. Together the loving couple navigates the problems of life with their quirky modern-day family.

UB spoke to the talented Cassi Davis Patton about this season. Cassi spoke with Aries about the longevity of House of Payne, her love for Tyler Perry, plus she shares her experience of being apart of the classic “Skool Dayz” cast and more.

Cassi is an accomplished actor in television, film, and theatre. Her other television credits include: Living Single, Chicago Hope and of course the “Hud Woman” in the claymation show The PJ’s with Eddie Murphy.

She has worked extensively over the years with Tyler Perry on his stage plays, and movie projects. Her film credits include: School Daze, Boycott, Daddy’s Little Girls, Madea’s Big Happy Family, Boo! A Madea Halloween, and Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. Her theatre credits include: Barefoot In The Park, Madea Goes To Jail, What’s Done In The Dark, Aunt Bam’s Place, Madea’s Neighbors From Hell, Madea On The Run and finally Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Farewell Tour.

In Season Two of Tyler Perry‘s comedy series “Assisted Living,” Mr. Brown, Cora, and the gang open their Assisted Living facility and a hilarious variety of personalities come to live in the home, bringing with them a ton of laughs and experiences.

UB spoke to the beautiful Courtney Nichole about the second season. Cassi spoke with Aries about this season and what viewers can expect. Courtney also talks about what is was like to fim during a Pandemic, plus she talks about her upbringing in Chicago and more.

Chicago native Courtney Nichole is a multi-faceted actress. Courtney’s career also includes roles in the Amazon Prime show, Not for Nothin’ as the vivacious talent rep, Alicia, as well as Lifetime’s Sinister Surrogate and the Full-screen produced show, H8ters.

Other credits include the Emmy award- winning Proctor & Gamble Commercial The Talk, TV drama series, S.W.A.T and Snowfall. A theater actress at heart, Courtney starred in a production of August Wilson’s Fences, as well as starred in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play No Place to be Somebody, produced by Tina Knowles Lawson & Richard Lawson at The WACO Theater Center.

BET has already green-lit “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” for a ninth season and “Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living” for a third season.
