Rising indie pop and alternate R&B star Maeta has released her highly anticipated and eclectic EP, “Habits” via Roc Nation.

The young artist previewed the album on Clubhouse last night, which caught our ear.

From previously released singles including the Kaytranada-produced bumper “Teen Scene” to sultry “Toxic” produced by Skrillex, “Habits” includes new music like the deeply personal love letter “Gift,” the confidence boosting “Bitch, Don’t Be Mad” and the dreamy, melancholic track “Doesn’t Mean a Thing.Maeta also includes a remixed cover of the Zhane classic “Sending My Love,” a nod to the cult following of fans who tuned into her IG media series, #MaetaMondays where she performed covers of her favorite songs.

“My EP, Habits, is about everything that comes with being in a toxic relationship – love, anger, sex, growth, self esteem. I was finding my way through one during the making of this project, so it was like therapy for me during that time. I’m so excited for everyone to hear this project, and my hope is that people connect with the music and feel uplifted, healed, and understood.

After moving to L.A., Maeta caught the attention of Roc Nation Co-President Omar Grant. Since then, she has come out of the gate generating buzz and racking up Spotify plays with the first two singles from “Habits” thanks to collaborations with power players Kaytranada and Skrillex. Kaytranada, who recently won a GRAMMY Award, produced her first single “Teen Scene,” which has already reached over 3.7 million streams on Spotify. Skrillex, who happened upon Maeta’s music on Instagram, reached out to collaborate on her recent single, “Toxic” featuring Beam.
