To say that Aretha Franklin was one of the greatest artists of all time is an understatement.

Her multi-octave voice moved millions around the world during an unrivaled career that spanned six decades and garnered the singer-songwriter every achievement and honor imaginable. Her reign as the Queen of Soul will play out across in a biopic film and new music collection.

A movie based on her life “Respect” has been delayed till August 13th, 2021. Now UB has learned the career spanning boxed set, set to be released next month has been pushed to 2021 as well.

ARETHA” was set to arrive on November 20th and features 81 newly remastered tracks, including alternate versions of classic hits, demos, rarities and live tracks. Now the set will arrive on July 30th, 2021.

The film is the remarkable true story of legendary music star Aretha Franklin’s journey to find her voice in the midst of the turbulent social and political landscape of 1960s America. Academy Award®-winner Jennifer Hudson who was handpicked by Franklin — headlines an all-star cast that includes Oscar®-winner Forest Whitaker, Mary J. Blige, Marlon Wayans and four-time Emmy®-nominee Tituss Burgess.

To put Franklin’s life and career into perspective, the “ARETHA” collection is accompanied by liner notes written by Rochelle Riley, author and director of arts and culture for the City of Detroit, and SoulMusic.com founder and historian David Nathan who interviewed Franklin more than any other living writer. The collection also features stunning artwork by celebrated artist Makeba KEEBS Rainey, who provides her signature style to a classic portrait of the Queen of Soul by renowned photographer Neal Preston.
