Sounds of Blackness Return with ‘Sick & Tired’

3-time Grammy Award-Winning Sounds of Blackness are back with “Sick & Tired” an amazing new anthem for today’s social justice movement. The single will be available July 1st.

Sick & Tired” was written and produced by Sounds of Blackness Music Director Gary Hines.

Inspired by 400 years of Systemic Injustice, Inequality and Inhumanity that continues today, The Sounds of Blackness express the perpetual pain and rage of Black People, in the words of the legendary Fannie Lou Hamer – “I’m Sick & Tired of Being Sick & Tired!

Several Sounds of Blackness soloists are featured on this life-changing track, including the unmistakable voice of Jamecia Bennet, who also directed the soon to be released “Sick & Tired” viual.

UB spoke to Gary Hines in 2011 and he told us then, the special relationship he has with Jamecia; “She would say the same, once a Sound, always a Sound. Matter of fact she and I have kept in contact. We’ve worked on a number of different projects even after she went on to her solo career. Some of those collaborations were for her phenomenal daughter Paris Bennett, American Idol finalist.

Sounds of Blackness once again have as their Special Guests, HSRA (High School for Recording Arts).

The Sounds of Blackness will donate a portion of the proceeds to The George Floyd Scholarship Fund.
