The Fox owned-and-operated stations (Fox Television Stations) will launch “The Real” in Fall 2014 following an incredibly successful test this past summer. In addition, “The Real” will premiere in a second window on BET.

“This summer, the daytime landscape in seven Fox markets was dramatically altered when the women of ‘The Real’ exploded on to the air,” said Ken Werner, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. “’The Real’ brought viewers a unique combination of elements that were missing from daytime, a real, multi-cultural conversation about issues that women of all ages are talking about. Daytime viewers from across the nation tuned in everyday to share in the fun, authentic, energetic and wonderfully outrageous hour that is ‘The Real’ experience. We are very excited to be bring this distinctive unique series to stations for the Fall of 14.”

“Five hosts for the price of one – score! Seriously, we’re all looking for younger adults and this program delivered big time,” said Frank Cicha, Senior Vice President, Programming, Fox Television Stations. “This skew suggests daypart flexibility, which opens up lots of interesting scheduling opportunities, especially in our duopolies. Should be fun.”

“These five hosts have amazing chemistry and they will again bring their outspoken and direct points of view to the audience at home come Fall ’14,” said Mike Darnell, President, Warner Bros. Unscripted and Alternative Television.

“We are thrilled that ‘The Real’ will be joining our line-up next year,” said Loretha Jones, President, Original Programming, BET Networks. “It is a fun and exciting show that our audience will enjoy and a perfect complement to our programming slate.”

The one-hour daily talk show, hosted by a dynamic team of Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley and executive produced by SallyAnn Salsano, enjoyed an incredibly successful four-week, seven market test in summer 2013 on the FOX-owned stations in New York (WNYW), Los Angeles (KTTV), Washington D.C. (WTTG), Philadelphia (WTXF), Phoenix (KSAZ), Houston (KRIV) and Tampa (WTVT).

Across all seven markets, “The Real” proved to be a strong recruiter, improving at least +2 share points over its lead-in among all Women demos, growing +50% over the May ’13 time period share among Women 18-49 and +40% among W25-54.

“The Real” will debut on 18 FOX-owned stations, including, New York (WNYW), Los Angeles (KTTV), Chicago (WFLD), Philadelphia (WTXF), Dallas (KDFW), Boston (WFXT), Atlanta (WAGA), D.C. (WTTG), Houston (KRIV), Detroit (WJBK), Phoenix (KSAZ), Tampa (WTVT), Minneapolis (KMSP), Orlando (WOFL), Charlotte (WJXY), Memphis (WHBQ), Austin (KTBC) and Gainesville (WOGX).

“The Real” is led by five bold and diverse hosts — Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley. These women attract a real multi-generational audience and say what women are actually thinking. Their unique perspectives are brought to life through candid conversations about topics ranging from their own personal lives to the news of the day to beauty, fashion and relationships. These women are all going varied life experiences, including new motherhood, new marriages, dating or singledom, that relate to every woman’s own trial and tribulations. Unlike other talk shows, each of the five hosts is admittedly a “work in progress” and fearlessly invites the home audience into their lives.
