Tyler Perry’s ‘Joe’s College Road Trip’ | First Film Under Netflix Partnership

The Film Is Set To Wrap In March, 2024.

The Netflix film “Joe’s College Road Trip,” will start production in early 2024. The first film under Tyler Perry‘s new partnership with Netflix.

Realizing he may have sheltered his son for too long, Brian begrudgingly agrees to send his son B.J. on a college tour with his grandfather in the hopes that Joe can teach him a thing or two about Black History and the real world – ideally without getting them both killed in the process.

Generations clash as the two embark and they quickly run into trouble. But somewhere along the way, B.J. gains a new perspective on the generations that came before him, and comes to appreciate his grandpa Joe.

Tyler Perry and Netflix have formed a creative partnership, where he will write, direct and produce feature films under a multi-year first-look deal. Casting begins January 8th, 2024, with the film set to wrap in March, 2024.

It comes after the announcement of the upcoming films with Netflix, Six Triple Eight” starring an ensemble cast led by Kerry Washington about the inspiring true story of the the first and only Women’s Army Corp unit of color to be stationed overseas during World War 2, and “Mea Culpa” starring Kelly Rowland about a criminal defense attorney who takes on the case of an artist who may or may not have murdered his girlfriend.

Tyler Perry’s previous films with Netflix include “A Jazzman’s Blues,” a sweeping tale of forbidden love that made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, “A Madea Homecoming,” the 12th installment of the billion dollar Madea franchise, and the thriller A Fall from Grace.
