Princeton Perez Debuts New Visual ‘Control’

UrbanBridgez.com was without a doubt, the #1 source for Mindless Behavior updates. A quick search of the group on our site, will confirm that. So it’s no surprise that we continue to follow these talented young men on their musical journeys, following the disbandment.

Yesterday, former member Princeton Perez, released his debut solo visual, for his hot single “Control.” Directed by Nicole Blue.

The single is lifted from his debut EPPapi Chulo Prelude,” released last summer via Empire.

For the release, Princeton spoke to our friends at Singersroom.com and told them how he handles the pressure of the industry with him being in the industry so long?

Gym Class Heroes saw my audition tape back in 2006, contacted my team, and invited me to portray a younger Travie McCoy in a video for “Shoot Down The Stars,” and another role in “Cupid’s Chokehold.” That experience helped groom me into the composed and hungry artist I am today! Also, my experiences with Mindless Behavior taught me to take things one step at a time and not rush the process.
He went on to say “When I found out Barack Obama’s daughters were fans of mine, I was very humbled at the fact that my music was heard on a grander stage. However, when Obama praised me, that’s when I realized I must enjoy the journey I’m on and take things one step at a time. I really don’t have a particular favorite moment, the journey overall has been wonderful, and I’m very blessed to be on it. Pressure only affects you negatively if you let it so use it as motivation to keep progressing and you’ll be fine!

In 2010, almost a year before the release of Mindless Behavior‘s debut album Princeton shared with UB, how the group was assembled; “Two years ago, Walter brought the idea to Vincent Herbert about forming a kids group. After that part of our management team Keisha Gamble & Walter held auditions with about 500 kids. That’s where me and Roc met & we made the group.” He added; “Then a few months later our choreographer David Scott saw Prodigy on YouTube & we had him audition, then after that Ray Ray auditioned at midnight, and soon after Walter and our songwriter Kenneth Nelson started to develop the sound for our music. And then they took us to Interscope Records and they signed us to Streamline Records and now we’re here!

Seemed like a story made in music industry heaven. However the group disbanded for good in 2017.

Now Princeton Perez strikes out on his own, with his first solo visual “Control.”

We expect some more fire from this youngin soon!
