UB Reviews: Five-Year Engagement
Five-Year Engagement Film Review (Universal)
In Theaters Now! By JDot. UrbanBridgez.com
Moviegoers are in for a treat this weekend with the new comedy starring Jason Segel & Emily Blunt, The Five-Year Engagement, hitting theaters.
Five-Year Engagement is directed by Nicholas Stoller who also directed Get Him to the Greek. The film is full of laughter, great writing and clever comedic liners from beginning to end. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt carry the film very well and the supporting cast served a great purpose as well. ?The producers of Bridesmaids did a great job with the film and its stand out cast. Many moviegoers will be thoroughly entertained by the three-some that is Doug, Ming & Vaneetha. These three supporting characters are played by Kevin Hart, Randall Park and Mindy Kaling. Their characters play an integral part in the storyline and will have your stomachs in pain from laughter.
The only downside to this very good film would be its length. I think the producers could have scaled back some since the movie is close to 120 minutes of comedy. The final scene is close to 30-minutes long and definitely drags a bit. However, the lead characters are so relatable and realistic that you won’t really care too much about the closing scene’s length.
I highly recommend this movie as a must-see film this weekend and if you are a fan of Bridesmaids you will definitely be entertained by this very funny film.
