Stream Teedra Moses ‘Complex Simplicity (Reimagined)’

Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Teedra Moses has debuted her EP “Complex Simplicity (Reimagined).

The project features contributions from Ab-Soul, Dawn Richard, Durand Bernarr, Gerald Clayton, Rose Gold, Theo Croker, following the lead single “Doin’ You” featuring international Grammy Award–winning artist Estelle.

Co-written by Moses 21 years after the release of her critically acclaimed debut, the reimagined EP revisits “Complex Simplicity” with a renewed perspective.

While rooted in the nostalgia that made the original a modern R&B classic, “Complex Simplicity (Reimagined)” highlights Teedra’s growth as an artist, a woman and a storyteller.

“When revisiting Complex Simplicity, I wanted to reconnect with the softer, more feminine parts of myself and bring that sensuality forward,” states Teedra. “When I recorded the original album, my approach was more aggressive because of where I was in life. With this reimagined version, I wanted to honor the lyrics fans have loved for two decades, while evolving the production to create something that feels both familiar and new.”

Originally released in 2004, “Complex Simplicity” cemented Teedra Moses as one of R&B’s most cherished and quietly revolutionary voices. Its blend of classic soul, streetwise lyricism, and self-assured femininity laid the groundwork for much of today’s R&B and influenced an entire generation of artists.

Fans can experience Teedra Moses and Estelle live on stage at the Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C. on December 21 at 8 PM ET, marking a powerful collaboration that bridges past and present.

We were also granted one of the first interviews with Teedra as she promoted her debut album “Complex Simplicity.” Our interview was apart of her roll-out and was mentioned in Billboard Magazine.

Aries from UB, asked Teedra then, what overall expression did she want music lovers to get from her album? “Just to see where I was coming from when I recorded it. Like this is some of the realest shit I have ever heard. It’s all me, you know! No tricks, just the truth.” Teedra continued; “The producers who worked on my album just let me be me. It’s just real and it’s coming from my heart, I’m not trying to fit in with what’s playing on the radio. Teedra is just being Teedra and I was writing about what I was going through at that given time. I want people to feel it.”
