Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated artist B.o.B celebrates a career milestone as his global hit “Airplanes” featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore, has officially been certified Diamond by the RIAA; signifying over 10 million certified units sold in the US.
The certification was officially awarded on October 31st, marking a defining moment for both artists and cementing “Airplanes” as one of the most enduring hits of the 2010s.
Originally released on April 13th, 2010, “Airplanes” was the second single from B.o.B’s debut album “B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray.”
The song soared to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, topping charts across multiple countries including the United Kingdom and New Zealand, while earning multi-platinum certifications globally.
With over 1.4 billion Spotify streams and nearly 800 million YouTube views to date, “Airplanes” continues to fly high across generations, blending poignant lyricism, anthemic melodies, and Hayley Williams’ unforgettable chorus that struck a chord with millions around the world.
Although recorded separately, B.o.B and Hayley Williams met for the first time on stage at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, where they delivered an electrifying live debut of the single; a moment that quickly became one of the ceremony’s most memorable performances.
The Diamond certification comes as B.o.B marks the 15-year anniversary of his debut album.
The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, powered by chart-topping singles including “Nothin’ on You,” “Magic,” and “Airplanes.”
