Day Lee has officially arrived. The emerging R&B vocalist unveils his first full-length outing of 2025, “What Once Was Lost,” via Sincerely Yours.

The EP carves out new sonic territory for Day Lee as he unleashes the emotionally raw lyricism that’s become his trademark. Proving himself as one of the most exciting emerging artists, “What Once Was Lost” spans 8 tracks and includes previously released singles “Feel At Peace” and fan favorite “FILL THE VOID.

From concept to completion, each song on the project marks a different encounter – some sweet, some messy, some that cut a little deeper than expected. Lee draws from his own personal experiences of facing and conquering difficult emotions, in an effort to manage his feelings without suppressing them.

Speaking on the new EP, Day Lee states: “‘What Once Was Lost’ is a raw and nostalgic reflection on the connections that shaped you – and the emotions they left behind. Told through a blend of dark R&B, hip-hop, and soul, the project captures the highs, lows, and in-betweens of love as it really feels: hazy, complicated, and hard to hold onto.

What Once Was Lost” is layered with vulnerability and the magnetic pull of deep connection, proving a glimpse at the emotional depth of Lee’s songwriting. It represents another piece of the puzzle in his growing discography.

Hailing from the Lower East Side, Day Lee has an uncanny ability to create music that’s imbued with dreamlike wonder. Each release maintains his hallmark of authenticity while cementing his position as one of R&B‘s promising new voices. From early beginnings singing in the church choir to studio sessions with the late PnB Rock, and collaborations with Lil Tjay, OhGeesy, and Roddy Ricch, he’s a force to be reckoned with.

Day Lee is an emerging artist whose sound is as rich and soulful as his roots. Though Lee started playing instruments by ear, it wasn’t until high school that he began to take his craft seriously. A pivotal moment came when he stepped into a real studio for the first time, realizing this was the world he wanted to be a part of.

Mentored by the likes of late rapper PnB Rock, Lee’s career jump started with 2018’s Way Of Vol. 1, which positioned him on radars far beyond his local market. The follow-up, Way Of Vol. 2, would arrive two years later. Despite a temporary hiatus, music remained a constant thread in his life. And in 2023, Lee returned with his latest project, Worse Than It Seems. Raw yet refined, this release explored fresh musical landscapes with deep introspection, representing an evolution in his artistry.

Pairing up with rising stars like Stunna Gambino and Lil Tjay, as well as established artists like OhGeesy and Roddy Ricch, he has developed a reputation for blending intricate storytelling with textures that feel both nostalgic and innovative.

Now, with renewed vigor and inspiration, Day Lee is looking forward to continuing his journey, creating music that’s real and relatable: “I want people to hear my music and feel like there is someone who is going through everything with them.”
