Sheila E. Releases Memorizing ‘Vuelvo’ Video
A Standout Track from “Bailar Deluxe.
The Queen of Percussion and Grammy-winning artist Sheila E., has unveiled the official music video for “Vuelvo”, an emotionally rich ballad marking her first full song sung entirely in Spanish.
Co-conceptualized by Sheila E. and directed by award-winning New Zealander Shae Sterling — who also helmed the vibrant “Bemba Colorá” video — the cinematic work reflects themes of return, resilience, and cultural pride.
Filmed in Los Angeles and UB‘s home, Minneapolis, the visual journey honors Latin heritage with a special appearance by the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea. Family is central to Sheila E.’s artistry, and in “Vuelvo” she continues her family’s musical legacy with her nephews Peter and Kingston dancing alongside her, and her godson Mychael Gabriel contributing a soulful guitar solo.
“Singing a song entirely in Spanish has been a long-time dream. Vuelvo is about coming home—emotionally, musically, and spiritually. It’s a celebration of identity, love, and artistic evolution,” states Sheila E.
Written by Grammy and Latin Grammy winner Claudia Brant and Josh Cumbee, “Vuelvo” is a standout track from “Bailar Deluxe,” the expanded edition of Sheila E.’s Grammy-winning salsa album “Bailar.”
The deluxe release also features new collaborations, including a Latin reinterpretation of “The Glamorous Life” and “Mi Rumba y Tambor” with La India.
UB recently celebrated Sheila E., with a Soul Friday, in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of her sophomore album release “Romance 1600,” originally released August 26th, 1985.
