The UB Interview: Jeremy Pargo + Cast Talk ‘The Final Play’

“The Final Play” tells the heartfelt and comedic story of professional basketball player Breylon McNeil, played by real-life professional basketball player Jeremy Pargo who also co-wrote and executive produced the film.

“The Final Play” – inspired by Pargo’s own life experiences – takes the audience on a powerful journey of resilience, love, and self-discovery.

Recently retired Breylon embarks on a quest to rebuild his life. While confronting unresolved fears and the sacrifices of life beyond the court, he learns that winning in the game of love means embracing vulnerability and making the ultimate ‘final play.’

“The Final Play” offers an authentic portrayal of Black men, Black women, and the ways they come together and break apart, delivering a story that is both inspiring and deeply relatable.

JEREMY PARGO (BREYLON) – LEAD ACTOR, WRITER, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Jeremy Pargo is a professional basketball player and emerging talent in the film industry. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jeremy is known for his exceptional skills on the court and his recent transition into the world of filmmaking. After a successful college basketball career at Gonzaga University, Jeremy embarked on a professional basketball journey that took him to various teams in the NBA and international leagues.

With his unique perspective as a professional athlete, he brings authenticity and depth to his storytelling, making him an up-and-coming executive and talent in the film industry. He established his own production company, Pargo Productions, with a focus on developing and producing culturally relevant and inspiring content.

With his debut project, “The Final Play”, Jeremy aims to share underrepresented stories and explore the complexities of the Black male experience. Jeremy brings his personal experiences and complexities to his first lead role as Breylon.

His journey is defined by his passion for storytelling, his desire to amplify voices, and his dedication to creating meaningful and impactful content.

Navv Greene is a talented comedian who has made a memorable mark in the entertainment industry. Known for his comedic timing and unique style, Navv brings a touch of humor to his performances, leaving audiences entertained and uplifted.

One of Navv Greene’s notable appearances includes his role in the comedy film “Coming 2 America”.

Whether through stand-up comedy, film, or other comedic endeavors, he has the ability to connect with audiences and bring joy to their lives.

VANESSA D. FANT (Renee)
Vanessa D. Fant is a dynamic actress and internet personality, widely recognized as a core cast member of the hit YouTube series “The Round Table Gameshow”.

She stars in the Tubi film “12 Baes of Christmas” as her latest lead role, showcasing her range and charm in a festive romantic comedy. With a growing catalog of fan-favorite performances on streaming platforms; she’s known for her compelling screen presence, charisma and authenticity both on and off screen.
