One of our absolute favorites, Grammy Award-winning vocalist and soul music icon Ann Nesby has released her new single “Ain’t Gotta Worry” via It’s Time Child Records/GoDigiPath/ADA.

A melodic, mid-tempo R&B groove built for spring, “Ain’t Gotta Worry” offers affirmation for emotionally mature love—uplifting men who lead with intention and honoring the women who match that energy. With heartfelt honesty and a quiet flex, Ann assures her man “ain’t gotta worry,” while inviting women already holding it down in their relationships to raise their hands in agreement.

I’ve lived this song. Real love—the kind that’s mutual, intentional, and emotionally grown—isn’t fantasy. It’s possible. I wanted to give the brothers their flowers and salute the women who love like they mean it,” states Ann Nesby. “We’ve all been through enough to know that settling isn’t the same as loving. This song is a reminder: if it’s real, you won’t have to worry.

The single reunites Ann with another Twin Cities legend RL Huggar of platinum-selling group Next and longtime collaborator Brian “B-Flat” Cook—the same creative team behind her current single “My Man,” which continues to perform strongly at Urban AC radio with over 2.6 million airplay impressions and a listening reach of 500,000+ nationwide.

Ain’t Gotta Worry” is going for adds at radio in May, aiming to follow the upward trajectory established by “My Man” while continuing to resonate with the grown and soulful R&B audience.

Both tracks appear on Ann Nesby’s exceptional forthcoming studio album “ANNiversary,” available Friday, April 11th.

The project marks her first full-length studio album in 11 years and eighth solo album since her breakout as the lead vocalist of Sounds of Blackness, with whom she earned two Grammy Awards and helped define a generation of gospel-infused soul.

ANNiversary” was written and produced in full by Ann Nesby, RL Huggar, and Brian “B-Flat” Cook—with the exception of a powerful reunion duet with Calvin Richardson, reigniting the chemistry that earned them a Grammy nomination in 2009 for their cover of “Love Has Finally Come at Last.

In addition to her musical legacy, Ann Nesby serves as Executive Producer and narrator of the Oscar-qualifying documentary short “CIRILO, A Legacy Untold,” now entering its international film festival run. She also contributes original music to the film’s soundtrack, showcasing her continued commitment to storytelling through both sound and cinema.

With the richness of her vocals, the maturity of her message, and a sound rooted in emotional truth, Ann Nesby reminds us that real R&B is far from dead—it’s evolving, and she’s still one of its most trusted voices.
