“All American” is inspired by the life of pro football player Spencer Paysinger.
Kareem Grimes journey began in the 90s when John Singleton discovered him as a child casting him in the classic coming-of-age story, Boyz n the Hood. Following his debut, he’s appeared in films and shows like Baby Boy, ER, CSI, Bones, S.W.A.T., Grown-ish and The Vince Staples Show.
He has been a fan favorite on The CW’s sleeper hit “All American” as ‘Cordell Simms,’ aka “Preach,” a former gang member and teacher at South Crenshaw for seven seasons.
In “The Vince Staples Show,” he plays the eccentric and heartwarming “Uncle Mike.”
Recently nominated for two NAACP Image Awards and is currently in production on its second season.
