Directed by Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton, today the trailer was revealed for “One of Them Days” starring Keke Palmer and SZA via Sony Pictures.
It’s the first of the month and rent is due! But Dreux (Keke Palmer) is calm and carefree after her nightshift as a waitress at Norms; She’s already paid her part of the rent to her free-spirited artist best friend and roommate Alyssa (SZA).
She’s even got an interview with her corporate bosses for a management position later that day that could permanently end her paycheck-to-paycheck struggle. Things are looking up as she closes her eyes to finally get some sleep.
But when their landlord Uche (Rizi Timane) comes knocking for the unpaid rent, Dreux and Alyssa find out that Alyssa’s scrub boyfriend Keshawn (Joshua David Neal) spent their rent money, and their day goes from bad to worse as their landlord gives them until 6 P.M. to come up with the missing $1,500 or be evicted.
The chaotic predicament leads them on a wild and comical adventure through South L.A. to make back the money that Keshawn stole, testing their friendship, jeopardizing Dreux’s promotion and threatening both of their lives as they race against a neighborhood bully, a local thug and the clock to make ends meet.
Though the polar opposite besties have their own way of solving problems, it’ll take both meticulous Dreux and creative Alyssa working together to hatch a plan that’ll save their asses and help them level up in their lives for good.
