To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of her debut album, “Complex Simplicity,” Grammy nominated R&B artist, Teedra Moses, performed her classic records on NPR’s Tiny Desk.
The concert follows the release of the first reimagined single “Complex Simplicity” featuring Durand Bernarr. The full reimagined album release date is forthcoming.

In 2004 we were asked by our rep at TVT Records to help launch Teedra‘s single “Be Your Girl” on our then brand T M H.
We were also granted one of the first interviews with Teedra as she promoted her debut album “Complex Simplicity.” Our interview was apart of her roll-out and was mentioned in Billboard Magazine.
Aries from UB, asked Teedra then, what overall expression did she want music lovers to get from her album? “Just to see where I was coming from when I recorded it. Like this is some of the realest shit I have ever heard. It’s all me, you know! No tricks, just the truth.” Teedra continued; “The producers who worked on my album just let me be me. It’s just real and it’s coming from my heart, I’m not trying to fit in with what’s playing on the radio. Teedra is just being Teedra and I was writing about what I was going through at that given time. I want people to feel it.”
Most notably known for her “Critically Acclaimed” debut album “Complex Simplicity,” which spawned records “Be Your Girl,” “Backstroke” and “Take Me” featuring Raphael Saadiq, Teedra Moses has quietly built a brand that’s proven it can stand the test of time. Releasing only two commercial albums, “Complex Simplicity” and “Cognac & Conversation,” it’s been the series of original song mixtapes, accompanied by her soulful stage presence and the infamous “Be Your Girl“ Kaytranada Remix that has sustained her fan base over the decade between commercially released albums.
Teedra also adds Songwriter to her credit as a Grammy-Nominated Songwriter, and two-time Song of the Year BMI Award recipient.
She not only pens all her own lyrics, but has written songs for other artists including, Mary J. Blige, Raphael Saadiq, Kelly Rowland, Kaytranada and many others. Moses‘ songs have been featured in staple HBO hit shows like “Insecure” and “Entourage,” showcased on Twitch, Adult Swim, multiple motion pictures, and currently featured in the Peloton marketing campaign.
