The genre-bending-disruptor from LA, Otis Kane teases his new album “Violet,” set for release in January, with soulful single “Scorpio.”
“As a lifelong Scorpio, I’ve navigated the sign’s more challenging traits and learned that living fully in the moment is the best way to thrive. I believe that message resonates universally,” Otis explains. “For this track, I wanted to channel the soulful artists I grew up listening to, hoping to share the good energy and vibes I felt while creating it with everyone who hears it!”
Infusing throwback R&B/Pop grooves with a fresh California vibe, Kane has already amassed tens of millions of streams and is poised to ignite even more movement with his upcoming full-length.
His 2024 Nettwerk debut, showcases his commitment to spreading warmth, love, and joy through music. His journey began in LA, where he discovered the transformative power of sound, honing his craft alongside industry giants like Nellee Hooper. With millions of streams from previous releases like his “Therapy“ EP and his debut LP “Purple BLUE,” Otis has solidified his place as a vibrant force in today’s music scene.
“I’m thrilled to release my second album, Violet. Creating it has been a true joy and an incredible experience. These songs represent a real evolution for me, both as an artist and a person. The album is a journey through my musical influences, my most creative moments, and some of my happiest times,” states Otis. “Most of this music was carefully crafted with my closest collaborators, D Mills and Peter Simon, alongside a few other very talented creatives who helped me push the boundaries of what I could imagine and create. The result is an album I’m incredibly proud of, and I can’t wait for the world to hear it!”
Otis gives us a taste of what’s to come with today’s single “Scorpio.” The track features electric guitar accents and a slick bass thump, layered beneath Otis‘s show-stopping vocals. It explores the joyful connection between two Scorpios who embrace life while reminding each other to appreciate the present.
