Daniel Lasker is a Zimbabwe born Actor and Filmmaker.
He Directed Zimbabwe‘s first ever Ndebele Sci-Fi Short Film and as an Actor is known for “Raised By Wolves“, on HBO Max, Noughts & Crosses on BBC One, “Vagrant Queen” on SYFY and “Abraham Lincoln” on History Channel.
Although primarily an Actor, Daniel is fiercely passionate about telling stories, either from in front of or from behind the lens. Growing up in Zimbabwe (which didn’t have an active film industry at the time), he taught himself how to make films, which were well received by the local community and various foreign film festivals.
At just 18 years old he was referred to as one of the most promising Zimbabwean Filmmakers.
Anja Taljaard hails from the Western Cape and has been acting, singing and dancing since the age of fourteen.
In 2014, she was selected as the Western Cape representative in the annual Act Dalro Nedbank Scholarship Awards, where she was one of six finalists who competed for one of three Performing Arts scholarships at the University of Johannesburg.
She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting for Film at City Varsity Cape Town in 2017.
Anja Taljaard is known for her roles in “Glasshouse“, “Redeeming Love” and “Juffrou X.”
Aries from UB recently caught up with the amazingly talented Daniel Lasker & Anja Taljaard, to talk about their new film “Hidden Within.”
Daniel tells us about the films conception and how he selected the actors for the characters.
While Anja shares what made her want to take the role on and shares her favorite scene in the film.
