The new inspirational film “The Forge” hits theaters August 23rd.

From the Kendrick Brothers, the creators of the #1 box office hit “War Room,” a faith-filled new movie with emotional themes, old friends, and new twists.

Starring one of our favorite young actors from “Á La Carte” and “Kingdom BusinessAspen Kennedy.

The Forge” tells the story of Isaiah Wright, a 19 year old who lives for basketball and video games. A year out of high-school, he still has no job, no plans, and no idea how to be a man.

At odds with his single mom, Cynthia, Isaiah is given an ultimatum – to step up or move out. Feeling the pull from his friends and the push from his mom, Isaiah is hired by Moore Fitness, but has no idea how the owner will personally impact his life.

With the prayers of his mother and unexpected guidance from his new mentor, Isaiah is forced to deal with his past, sacrifice his selfishness and discover how God might have a greater purpose for his life.

In our culture, so many people say they believe in God, but their walk with God is very lukewarm and half-hearted,” Stephen Kendrick stated. “Discipleship means it’s time to get on fire and all in, and this movie will push you, encourage you, inspire you to be all in for Christ.

It’s a forging process to be a disciple,” Alex Kendrick added.“ Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me.’ So in other words, this is a different level of following Jesus — not just belief that He is the Son of God … but also following.

Starring; Cameron Arnett, Priscilla Shirer, Aspen Kennedy, Karen Abercrombie, T.C. Stallings, BJ Arnett, Ken Bevel, Benjamin Watson, Jonathan Evans, Jerry Shirer and Tommy Woodard.

The Forge” is directed by Alex Kendrick and produced by Stephen Kendrick, with a screenplay by Alex and Stephen Kendrick.
