J.Lock‘s single, “Selfish” with RL has hit the Top 40 at Urban Radio!

Selfish,” claimed Top 40 positioning just before the Memorial Day weekend on Media Base’s Urban airplay chart ending on May 28th. The rap-sung collaboration has racked up over 200K streams on Apple and Spotify, and been steadily climbing the charts following its release and video drop. Based in Atlanta, the Mississippi born and bred also recently received the news of his 49th Annual Jackson Music Awards nomination for “Hip Hop Male Artist of The Year.” The awards will be held in Jackson, MS on July 24 at the Jackson Convention Center Complex.

The new track has a smooth R&B vibe mixed with witty bars that showcases J. Lock‘s versatility and lyricism combined with RL’s exceptional vocals. The blend of rap with a play on a late-2000s production style is the right combination for nostalgists.

Lock released his debut EP Typa SZN in 2021, featuring his stand-out track “City Life” in which he announces his arrival in the game.
