The UB Interview: ‘Under The Influence’ Cast Talks TV One Film
TV One‘s original film “Under The Influence,” will premiere on, Sunday, February 5th at 7/6C.
Denyce Lawton will star as Denae Herndon, while BJ Brit and Jared Wofford round out the cast.
Directed by Courtney Miller, in this film, a woman’s life is thrown into a dangerous tailspin after ending an affair with the dangerous lover she met in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
The film title, “Under The Influence” stems from the colloquial term “13th step.” This term applies when a 12-step old-timer hits on a newcomer with less than a year of sobriety. It can be for a variety of reasons: emotional, financial, or physical. But either way, it’s someone in a position of power trying to take advantage of someone weaker.
The film is a well told story of addiction, love and trust. In many ways the film shows how other addictions, can come with sobriety. BJ Brit is magnificent as Seth, while Denyce Lawton and Jared Wofford both portray their respected roles superbly.
