On Friday June 10th, “The 2nd Annual Benjamin Crump Equal Justice Now Awards,” took place at the LAX Marriott in Los Angeles, CA.

The event was hosted by the hilarious Loni Love.

The Benjamin Crump Equal Justice Now Awards are named for internationally recognized equal rights attorney Benjamin Crump. He served as counsel on cases such as George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, and Michael Brown. Mr. Crump is a significant collaborator with Equal Justice Now.

Attendees included Rev. Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters, Darius McCrary, Elise Neal, Miles Brown, Anthony Bless, Jon Jon from Troop, Edwina Findley, John Salley, and more.

The event included great performances and all of the honorees were presented with their award, by people they knew. Rev. Jesse Jackson took to the stage at the end of the night, to address the attendees and lead us in prayer. The absolute highlight of the evening.

Equal Justice Now is a non-profit social welfare organization focused on common sense police reform, ending systemic racism, and preventing voter suppression. The organization presents awards to honor notable public figures whose efforts serve to advance the cause of equality, ensure justice, and protect the civil rights of all Americans.

Benjamin Crump‘s documentary premiered on Netflix last week, the civil rights attorney stated to Eurweb; “There’s a documentary coming out at Netflix, they followed me for the past two years. What it really demonstrates is we can have a new future of justice where brothers and sisters won’t be marginalized and that’s what Equal Justice Now is about. Trying to say that the constitutional promise is for every American whether Black, brown, red or white. Every American matters.
