The UB Interview: Melissa Williams, Lenny D. Thomas, Blue Kimble + Baadja Lyne Talk ‘Ruthless’
Season Three of “Tyler Perry’s Ruthless” premiered earlier this month on BET+.
“Tyler Perry’s Ruthless” tells the riveting story of a woman named Ruth, who kidnaps her young daughter to join the dark underworld of a fanatical religious cult.
Season 3 picks up with even more drama, jealousy, and deception as The Highest plans to grow the Rakudushis cult. While a growing number of his flock are trying to escape paradise, the FBI infiltrates the cult.
Bodies begin to pile up in the pursuit of all of the deserters and agents are jeopardized. All the while, Ruth tries to gain power in the compound, with her number one mission being to get Marva out of power.
“Tyler Perry’s Ruthless” stars returning cast Melissa Williams, Matt Cedeño, Lenny D. Thomas, Baadja Lyne, Blue Kimble, Colin McCalla, Stevie Baggs, Jr., Alise Willis, Michelle Nuñez, and Samantha Thomas. This season, new cast members joining the series, include Josh Adeyeye and Nadège Augu.
Actress and singer, Melissa L. Williams was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Melissa moved to Atlanta for college and attended Clark Atlanta University. She majored in Theatre and was heavily involved in the university’s drama club, CAU Players. Her most memorable role thus far was playing Carmen in “F.A.M.E.”
Leonard D. Thomas, affectionately know as “Lenny”, was born and raised in New York City. His pursuit of acting has given him strength, peace, and the appreciation for living a life of abundance.
Blue Kimble was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally a football player, Blue played in the Arena Football League and the NFL with the Buffalo Bills. He turned to acting after an injury put a premature end to his football career.
Baadja-Lyne‘s humble roots in Chicago’s Cook County are where her dreams of acting began to take shape. Her faith in God coupled with unyielding determination and fueled by perseverance landed her numerous appearances on stage, in films and on television.
In addition, her distinct voice has given her voiceover opportunities and her comedic abilities have been featured in multiple commercials.
Melissa Williams, Lenny D. Thomas, Blue Kimble and Baadja Lyne spoke with Aries from UB about Season Three of “Tyler Perry’s Ruthless.”
Melissa tells UB if we can we expect a shift, in Ruth‘s intentions this season, while Lenny shares how he prepares to take on the role of Dikhan each season.
Baadja Lyne tells us her biggest joy, in being able to bring Elder Mother, now Supreme Mother to the small screen, plus Blue Kimble shares if his character Andrew, will be able to maneuver himself out of suspension of being undercover.
The cast also shares with us, their love and appreciation for Rhonda Stubbins White, who unfortunately passed away and more!
