The UB Video Interview: The Shindellas Talk ‘Hits That Stick Like Grits’
The Shindellas are a Nashville-based band with no lead singer and share the spotlight equally. The Shindellas introduce a unique genre of music to their audience composed of jazz, soul and true R&B.
The Shindellas consist of Kasi Jones, Stacy Johnson, and Tamara Chauniece, discovered by multi-Grammy nominated songwriting/production duo Louis York a.k.a. Chuck Harmony & Claude Kelly.
Their music is fresh and sound and looks like nothing out in the music-sphere as the music focuses on self-love, empowerment and positivity. Think The Supremes, The Clack Sisters, or a very early version of The Pointer Sisters.
They’re latest video and single “Money,” currently has over 2 million views and they’ve recently released a teaser for their upcoming video “Feeling the Pain.”
The Shindellas is a band formed under the belief that when women come together, powerful change can happen.
They are advocates aligned under the tenets of sisterhood, excellence, self-love, elegance and empowerment. With a hint of nostalgia as well as modern appeal, their music pulls the listener in with every note that they sing.
This week they released their highly anticipated album “Hits That Stick Like Grits.”
