Ne-Yo is gearing up to release his new sensual single “Bag and Body,” which he previewed last summer on Instagram Live.

Bag and Body” was preceded by the singles “Pinky Ring” feat. OT Genasis and the Billboard #1U 2 Luv” feat. Jeremih. All are expected to be on his forthcoming album this Spring via Motown/Compound Entertainment.

UB Interviewed the young star when he debuted in 2006, as apart of his roll-out. We asked Ne-Yo then, How does he get his creative juices flowing? “I’m weird. I don’t do things like some other people, like light candles, sit in front of the Ocean view (laughs).” He went on to say; “I just sit down and listen to the track and end up writing the song in like 15-20 minutes. Inspiration can come from anywhere. I can be in my house and glance over at the trash can, then look at a chair and start writing from that. Using the chair as the girl and make a story about her writing me a love note and just take it from there.

In his career to date, Ne-Yo has sold a cumulative 20+ million adjusted albums worldwide. Ne-Yo has won three GRAMMY® awards and been honored with a total of 14 nominations.

His first single, 2005’s “So Sick,” hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was certified quadruple Platinum. Since then, he has racked up a collection of hit singles – including “Sexy Love,” “Closer,” “Because of You,” “Miss Independent” and “Push Back” featuring Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don. Three of his albums have entered SoundScan’s Top Current Albums chart at #1.

He has proven to be as powerful with his pen as he is in the recording studio and on stage. The Las Vegas native quickly became known as a go-to hitmaker, penning bangers like Rihanna’s “Unfaithful,” “Russian Roulette,” and “Take a Bow,” along with Beyoncé’s 2006 breakup anthem “Irreplaceable” and songs for such artists as Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, among others
