Brandy Preps ‘Borderline’ Ahead of ‘b7’ Album Release
Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer/songwriter and actress Brandy, has come roaring back with a new fearless and inspiring attitude.
She’s set to release her brand new highly anticipated album “b7” on July 31st. The albums lead single “Baby Mama,” was released in May. A salute to all mothers, featuring Chance The Rapper and produced by Hit-Boy. The song peaked on Billboard‘s R&B Digital sales chart at #10.
Now UB can confirm the follow-up single, featuring and produced by DJ Camper entitled “Borderline,” will be released the week leading up to the album. The realest song she’s ever released in her career.

This will be Brandy‘s first album release on her own label Brand Nu.
Contributions on “b7” come from the late great LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels, Hit-Boy, Jeff Gitty, DJ Camper, Sebastian Kole, Cory Rooney, Antonio Dixon, Stacy Barthe, Angel, Prince Charlez, J. Que, Delisha Thomas, Kristal “Tytewriter” Oliver and Harvey Mason Jr.

“I’ve dedicated the last couple years of my life to my new music, my new project. It’s taken me a while, but I’m so happy about the focus and the work ethic that I’ve put into this project. I’m really proud of it and I finally feel ready to present it to the world,” Brandy stated on IG Live in May.

Brandy was born into a musical family, the Mississippi-born daughter of Willie and Sonja Norwood, became one of the most successful multi-media stars of the ’90s. Thanks to her constant presence on both the pop and R&B charts, her popular hit sitcom Moesha and the classic made-for-TV movie phenomenon Cinderella with the late great Whitney Houston, attracted more than 60 million viewers and broke new ground with its multi-cultural cast.
Since emerging with her 3x-platinum self-titled debut album in 1994 and released when Brandy was only 15-years-old, the trail-blazing pioneer has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide (including the 5x-platinum selling Never-Say-Never) and is ranked one of the best-selling female artists in American music history by the RIAA, having sold over 12 million albums in the United States.
She’s recorded six albums: Brandy (1994), “Never-Say-Never” (1998),“Full Moon” (2002), “Afrodisiac” (2004), “Human” (2008) and “Two Eleven” (2012).

Additionally, Brandy has also been a spokes model for Cover Girl, DKNY and Ultima/Kaneka brand by Brandy. Taking things to the next level, spring of 2015, Brandy made her Broadway debut in the Tony Award-Winning, record-breaking musical smash, Chicago as Roxie Hart. Chicago is the #1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history and Brandy is now a part of that history.
At the top of 2016, Brandy released “Beggin & Pleadin,” a bluesy trap-soul melody that was greeted with much admiration.
Last year Brandy celebrated a #1 Grammy nominated single, for “Love Again” with Daniel Caesar. “Freedom Rings” was released last fall to rave reviews. Her final collaboration with the late great LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels. The single reached #7 on the Billboard R&B chart. The song is included as a bonus track on various editions of “B7.”
