UB Spotlight: ‘Young Rock’ Series Premiere | Tonight on NBC
“Young Rock” debuts Tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
“Young Rock” focuses on different chapters of Dwayne Johnson’s life. From growing up in a strong and resilient family, to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family, to playing football at the University of Miami, the show will explore the crazy rollercoaster that has shaped Dwayne into the man he is today and the larger-than-life characters he’s met along the way.
UB screened the pilot and it’s a comedy you should definitely check out. We can tell you one reason alone, Earth, Wind and Fire music is featured.
As for why we think viewers should and will continue to tune in, is due to show being different than anything we’ve seen. In one sitcom, we get to learn about one of our favorite Hollywood talents, while being entertained with whatever era they’re in. The 80’s were a special time and are captured well in this series.
There’s literally a dining room scene of dynamic characterizes and legends and of course, there’s a Kevin Hart reference.
Dwayne Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa and John Tui star in the series.
