Burgeoning artist on the rise J.R. had every reason to become a product of his environment. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO Joshua Ryan was kin to a young mother and a father who was murdered. At the age of six, J.R. was adopted by a caucasian family he credits with “Saving his life”. Although he excelled in sports, it was the music programs he frequented, that led him to his passion where he would pursue a solo career in music.

Under mentorship of Brian Johnson and A.G., the father of two was introduced to R&B star Trey Songz and St. Louis rap veteran Nelly who lends features to J.R.’s latest mixtape “No Filter” alongside Tiffany Foxx. J.R. has been consistently working to solidify his spot as one of the best out of the midwest. His latest single “Best Friend” Feat. Trey Songz has garnered 1 million streams.
