UB Meet-N-Greet: Journey Bee to Release Debut Single ‘Wait’
A Musical Journey we won’t soon forget.
Once again, long time music executive Adrian Meeks of Song Source Music Group takes us on a musical Journey we won’t soon forget.
During another late night in the studio, I’m sipping on a chilled glass of Apple Crown, with a splash of cranberry, listening to a few songs produced by my partner Christopher Traxx Rogers of DELOSTART/SSMG. At about the third record, an angelic voice comes across the speakers. Immediately, I sat straight up from a slouched position asking, who is this? His reply, 22 year old Journey Bee formerly of the group KARMA.
I remembered KARMA being a Memphis Tennessee based trio who dominated the airwaves with their hit single entitled “Highlife” in 2016. But not able to identify which member being Journey, I asked to see a photo. When Journey‘s images popped up on the screen of the Mac Pro, my first impression was damn, she’s a star.
But what was more intriguing was the lyrical content in the song “Wait“. Can you just wait (4x) wait for me? Journey’s melodic overtones speaks to her love interest, that if she is truly the one for him, there should be no problem in waiting for her to take the relationship to the next level.
In a sexually driven society, “Wait” is the anthem for teenagers and young women around the globe who are making the conscious and moral decision to exercise patience and abstinence, while understanding their worth.
From a musical perspective, Journey Bee was well worth the wait. But now her waiting to break into the world of R&B/Soul music is over.
