‘RESPECT’ Arrives in 100 Days | Starring Jennifer Hudson as Aretha Franklin


We’re all exactly 100 days away from the release of the highly anticipated Aretha Franklin biopic, “RESPECT!” Coming to Theaters August 13th, 2021.

Starring Oscar and Grammy Award-winning Jennifer Hudson, who was handpicked by Aretha herself. Jenner Hudson states;

“Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, we know her as this legend but there is a story to everyone. Her life had so much depth to it, and it came through the music.”

Aretha was not only the Queen of Soul, but an iconic voice of Gospel music who let her faith shine in each aspect of her life.

The Cast: Jennifer Hudson, Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Kimberly Scott, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Heather Headley, Skye Dakota Turner, Tate Donovan and Mary J. Blige.

Director Liesl Tommy makes her feature film debut with Respect. Tommy is the first Black woman ever nominated for a Tony award for Best Direction of a Play in 2016 for Eclipsed.
