The Summer blockbuster season has officially kicked off with The Avengers and it shifts into first gear with the release of Universal Pictures “Battleship“, in theaters this Friday! For moviegoers, the film will definitely appease those who are looking forward to a Transformers meets Titanic mash-up. In just a little over two hours (seemingly the standard for this Summer’s movies), Battleship takes a little while to build the story line and introduce the audience to it’s characters which include fan favorites Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood), Taylor Kitsch (John Carter), Liam Neeson (Taken and The Grey) and new-comer Rihanna. This is Rihanna’s first film and we can honestly say that she did a good job in the film. Brooklyn Decker also provides not only nice eye-candy for the fellas but a nice supporting role as the girlfriend of lead star Taylor Kitsch who plays Lt. Alex Hopper.
Fans of the board game “Battleship”, will be thrilled to see that the movie utilizes the concept of sinking ships and strategic game play of outthink, outwit and outlast. From the top notch special effects and CGI to the great soundtrack and sound effects, moviegoers will definitely be satisfied when hitting the theaters this weekend to see “Battleship.”

Not my type of movie but I’m going only because of Ri!!
The movie was ok and Rihanna’s acting wasn’t bad like I anticipated it to be for a first try. At least it was better than a certain newish Mom’s so called acting.
