While witnessing a string of teenagers tragically take their own lives after suffering through hateful comments, cyberbullying, and depression, Mackenzie Nicole was inspired to release her poignant and uplifting new single, entitled
Deleted“.

It’s a response, not a lamentation, that really discusses how unintelligent, uninformed, poorly articulated and – frankly – pathetic hate really is, how it has such liminal implications,” Mackenzie Nicole says in a video about overcoming negativity. “Remember, if you’re encountering that sort of behavior, if you’re receiving hate, if you’re subject to that, just don’t even address it. Just #Delete it.

As she prepares for the 2017 release of her debut album, Mackenzie Nicole has had a workload far more significant than that of most 17-year-olds. The song and video for her “Actin Like You Know” single with Tech N9ne exploded this year and had the rising singer/songwriter performing the cut on many stages across the country. This past Sunday, she performed in front of more than 76,000 people during halftime of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ sold out game against the New Orleans Saints. In June, Mackenzie opened for Meghan Trainor and Andra Day at Mix 93’s Red, White and Boom concert series in her hometown of Kansas City. In addition to her demanding music schedule, Mackenzie is currently finishing her senior year of high school and preparing to attend college next fall at Princeton University.
