Faith Evans New Single “Tears Of Joy” from “R&B Divas” Breaks Into Top 10

Faith Evans has gone top 10 yet again with her new hit single “Tears of Joy.” The emotionally-charged ballad has stormed its way into the Top 10 on both the BDS (at #9) and Mediabase Urban AC (at #10) Charts. The song is featured on Faith’s latest release, “R&B Divas,” the companion album to the successful TV One new hit reality show of the same name.

“Tears of Joy” was written by multiple Grammy nominated songwriters and producers Claude Kelly & Chuck Harmony and the video was directed by veteran music director Erik White.

The follow-up single, “Dumb” is a retro-soul uptempo written by Evans and features production by multiple Grammy nominated super group 1500 OR NOTHIN’. The song will also be serviced to radio formats in the coming weeks. See sidebar for dates.

Faith is also performing select U.S. Dates, including stops in DC, New York, Los Angeles, Memphis and Albany (see below for exact dates).

Faith hosted the BET.com Red Carpet at The 2012 Soul Train Awards which were held at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Thursday, November 8th in Las Vegas and will air on the Centric & BET Networks on November 25th at 8/7 PM Central. Additionally, Faith recently shot an episode of WeTV’s original hit series L.A. Hair with Hollywood’s elite celebrity stylist Kim Kimble. The episode kicks off the 2nd season and will air in 2013.

Evans’ last album, “Something About Faith,” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Independent Album Chart and earned a 2011 Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the hit single “Gone Already.”

With a career spanning over a decade in the music industry, Faith has released 3 Platinum-certified albums (“Faith,” “Keep The Faith” and “Faithfully,”), the Gold-certified “The First Lady,” and the holiday classic, “A Faithful Christmas.” Evans is a 6-time Grammy nominee and winner for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “I’ll Be Missing You,” an homage to her late husband and hip-hop legend Notorious B.I.G. She is also a New York Times best-selling author; television producer; mother of four; and entrepreneur.

TV One’s highest-rated show, “R&B Divas” recently wrapped its first season. The show tells the current, real-life story of five multi-talented, beautiful R&B stars – Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Monifah Carter, Syleena Johnson and Keke Wyatt. Having all seen the highs and lows of the music business, these ladies know what it’s like to command the spotlight… then see it dim. Now, armed with important life lessons, they’re stronger and wiser. At the instigation of Faith Evans, the ladies come together to produce this charity album inspired by her friend Whitney Houston. In honor of the late singer, proceeds from the album will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts, an institution that Houston attended, located in her hometown of East Orange, NJ.
