Pics: Trey Songz “Angels with Heart Foundation” Benefit Concert Review

Trey Songz held his “Angels with Heart Foundation” Benefit Concert Friday night in NYC at the world famous Hammerstein Ballroom. The show was sponsored by Hot 97 and DJ Funkmaster Flex provided the music before the show began. Although the concert was for his foundation, which encourages successful moguls and companies to give back to underprivileged youth; the show was a regular Trey Songz event and he didn’t hold back a beat!

Trey appeared on stage in a black tux and the show began! Trey started out performing songs from “Anticipation II” including “Don’t Judge,” “Me4U- Infidelity,” and “Inside.” Before he went into some of his hits including “Gotta Go,” “Can’t Help But Wait,” “Invented Sex” and even a hot acoustic version of “Missing You” from “Trey Day.”

This is something bigger than myself. I realized I have the power to impact lives, and it’s time to send that love back into the world. Every dollar from tonight’s show will go to my foundation,” Trey told the audience. Just when fans thought it couldn’t get any better Trey brought out his good friend and recording artist Ne-Yo, the two performed their current hit “The Way You Move.” As Trey made his one and only wardrobe change, Ne-Yo entertained the sold-out crowd performing his hit single “One In A Million.”

Trey later returned to the stage, doing a very energetic version of “Bottoms Up,” where Trey even did Nicki Minaj‘s hot 16 and went into his hit “Say Aah.” Trey will celebrate his birthday tomorrow and one fan brought him a birthday gift and was invited on stage to present it to him. The gift, a Gucci money clip! In return Trey allowed the fan to wipe him down, so to speak and even placed the baseball hat he was wearing on her head before she exited the stage.

Trey winded down the special show with some more bangers from his catelog including a high energy performances of “Unusual,” “Don’t Love Me,” “Can’t Be Friends,” and “Jupiter love.” As Trey performed the last song of the night “Top of The World,” not only did he bring out a full choir, but his mother as well.

I get to see people all around the world who love my music, but don’t have shoes to wear. Give it up for the woman who made this possible, ya’ll have no idea what I’ve been through,” Trey told the audience. “Mama we did it!”
