Exclusive First Look: Alicia Keys “songs in A minor” [deluxe & collectors] Tracklisting

Alicia Keys’ debut album, songs in A minor, made a significant impact upon its release, catapulting the young singer/songwriter to the front of the neo-soul pack. Critics and audiences were captivated by a 19-year-old singer whose taste and influences ran back further than her years, encompassing everything from Prince to smooth ‘70s to Billie Holiday. By mixing R&B with a sultry dose of neo-soul, Alicia Keys became an international star.

The original release of songs in A minor sold more than 11 million albums worldwide and garnered Keys with her first five, of 14 total, Grammy® Awards including Best New Artist, Best Song of the Year for “Fallin,” and Best R&B Album. With the 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, Keys’ fans will be able to rediscover this seminal album and explore previously unreleased and original bonus material, such as the tracks “A Woman’s Worth” remix featuring Nas; “Juiciest” mix tape version; “Fallin” the Ali soundtrack version; and the previously unreleased “Typewriter, “If I Was Your Woman” original funky demo version.

This documentary is an up-close account behind the making of
Alicia Keys’ fi rst studio album, songs in A minor. Not only will this
project commemorate the tenth anniversary of Alicia Keys’ sophomore
album, but it will also serve as a vehicle for Alicia to connect
with her fans on a personal level offering a deeper look at the
woman behind the music.

Alicia’s fans will be privy to intimate stories from family, friends and
close collaborators about the struggles and triumphs she encountered
in the making of her first record. Fans will have the rare opportunity
to hear Alicia speak candidly about Columbia Records’ rejection of the album and the relentless spirit that kept her going nonetheless. We will hear directly from music industry legend Clive Davis and Peter Edge who worked alongside Alicia Keys to make songs in A minor an international success selling over 11 million copies around the world and winning five Grammy Awards.

The film will be a stylized combination of archival footage shot on
the road, television appearances, music videos from the record
and a collection of photographs. This is the riveting story of an artist’s struggles and her passionate beliefs in her music. Through candid interviews and compelling storytelling, we will learn the inspirational story behind the making of a legendary album.
