Stevie Wonder to Appear at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards

Recipient of a staggering 25 Grammy Awards, musical legend Stevie Wonder has been added as a presenter for Spike TV‘s “Video Game Awards 2009,” airing LIVE on Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 PM ET (tape delay West Coast). Wonder will be on hand to present the award for Best Music Game. Emmy® Award nominated actor and star of “ScrubsZach Braff will also be in attendance.

In addition to Snoop Dogg, Spike TV has added another live musical performance to the night’s bill, The Bravery.

Joining the roster of presenters will be Kimbo Slice. Fresh off of his first career win in the UFC®, Slice will be on-hand to present world premiere footage of the new UFC Undisputed 2010 video game.

Also attending will be cast members from MTV‘s new reality show “Jersey Shore” making their first public appearance since the show’s debut. The game players that will be walking the red carpet are Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Jenni “J-Woww” Farley, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Pauly Delvecchio.

Previously announced talent from the world of entertainment scheduled to appear include – Jake Gyllenhaal, Olivia Wilde, Jack Black, Forrest Griffin, Mark Hamill, Tony Hawk, Samuel L. Jackson, Mike Tyson, Alyssa Milano, Zachary Quinto, Luc Robitaille, Stephen A. Smith, Tricia Helfer, Jason Hall, Joseph Kosinski, Sean Bailey, Felicia Day and Nancy O’Dell.

Attendees from the gaming industry include – Stig Asmussen, Christophe Balaestra, Josh Bear, Cliff Bleszinksi, Jean-Francois Boivin, Jenova Chen, Chet Failszek, Dan Greenewalt, Sefton Hill, David Jaffe, Brian Jarrard, Jesper Kyd, Marty O’Donnell, Randy Pitchford, Alex Rigopulos, Darrell Rodriguez, Kellee Santiago, Tim Schafer, Jamie Walker, Evan Wells, Jason West, Michael Wilford, Frank Wilson, Vince Zampella and Greg Zeschuk.

The telecast will also feature pre-taped appearances from Green Day and Hugh Jackman.

Spike TV’s 7th Annual “Video Game Awards 2009,” broadcasting in over 180 territories and countries, is a global celebration of all things gaming. The two-hour event premieres LIVE on Spike TV Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 PM, ET (tape delay west coast) from The Event Deck @ LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.
