Jack Freeman Debuts ‘Shine’ Video | Lead From New Album

New Album Inspired by Black Women, Centered Around Relationships, Love, & Pain.

Houston-based R&B artist Jack Freeman, has released the video for his debut single “Shine” from his third studio album “Nina,” available on January 19, 2024.

The project is co-produced by Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Bryan-Michael Cox, the 10-track album is the first of a series from Jack inspired by Black women, with records centered around relationships, love, and pain.

The single “Shine” is about a conversation with a friend and they’re telling you about their dating mishaps.

The visual for “Shine” was directed by Vicky Adegbola, the song was written by Jack Freeman and produced by Lab Ox.

Throughout the upcoming album, Jack explores various moods and tempos. Accompanied by house, bounce, and chopped-and-screwed remixes, “Nina” is the most sonically ambitious collection in his catalog and is a captivating showcase of the breadth of his artistry.

Earlier this year, Jack Freeman announced a joint venture with Bryan-Michael Cox‘s content creation company Illustrate New Ideas.

In 2016, Jack Freeman was tapped by John Legend to become a member of The AXE Collective and was featured alongside R&B star Joe for Radio One’s Black Music Month celebration that same year. Unleashing Side A of his double-sided EP “Spotless Mind” in 2015, Freeman returned in 2017 with “Spotless Mind: Side B.” The release included his breakout single, “Nobody,” which was featured on Season 1 of Spike Lee’s Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It.

In 2018, the rising star took his next creative leap with his sophomore studio album “Define Love,” which was accompanied by Chopnotslop remixes by DJ Candlestick and Swishahouse Records co-founder OG Ron. Capitalizing on the momentum, Jack Freeman unveiled another pair of EP’s, Leather and Blood, in 2019 and 2020, respectively. He also hit the road for the Texas leg of the Joe Budden Podcast Tour and has been an opening act The Dream, Bilal, John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, Lyfe Jennings Phife Dawg and more over the past decade.
