UB Preview + Kevin Hart & Mark Wahlberg Talk ‘Me Time’

Me Time” stars Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, Regina Hall, launching on Netflix this Friday August 26th!

Sonny Fisher (Kevin Hart) desperately needs a little time to himself. He’s a dedicated stay-at-home father of two young kids, proud PTA president, director of the school talent show, and supportive husband to superstar architect Maya (Regina Hall).

So when Maya, overworked and in need of some quality time with her children, offers to take the kids away for Spring Break by herself, Sonny finds himself home alone without his family for the first time in a decade. That’s until he gets a call from his former best friend, the party animal bachelor Huck Dembo (Mark Wahlberg), reuniting for Huck’s 44th birthday bash.

The wild weekend spirals out of control, threatening not only Sonny and Huck’s rekindled friendship, but also Sonny’s hard-earned reputation as the ultimate “Superdad” and family man.

Me Time” was written and directed by John Hamburg and also stars Luis Gerardo Méndez and Jimmy O. Yang and living legends, John Amos and Anna Maria Horsford, who play Sonny’s over-involved in-laws.

The “Me Time” Q&A with Kevin Hart & Mark Wahlberg!

What was it like to work with Kevin Hart for the first time?

Mark Wahlberg: Kev is the best. I’ve known him for a long time. We have been talking bout doing this for a long time. So, the fact that we’re finally getting to do it now, hopefully, there’ll be a couple more in the future. I’m already spit-balling some ideas around, so this could be the first of many.

What was it like to work with Mark Wahlberg for the first time?

Kevin Hart: I was so excited to work with Mark on this project. Mark and I have wanted to team up for a long time — we just needed the right project and when we both read ME TIME we knew this was it. Mark brings great energy to set and his comedic timing is brilliant, so it was easy to play opposite of him. I hope this isn’t the last project we work on together. I would love to get the opportunity to tell more stories with Mark.

What does “me time” mean to you?

Kevin Hart: A good definition would be time spent doing what you feel you
deserve to do.

Mark Wahlberg: I think my “me time” went from like eight hours to 14 hours. Between my eight hours of sleep, my workout, my golf — no wonder my wife is always pissed.

Kevin Hart: 14 hours! Are you saying 14 hours?

Mark Wahlberg: Yeah, she’s calling me selfish. Well, she’s right.

Kevin Hart: That’s a great number, Mark. 14 hours is strong.

Mark Wahlberg: Oh, it is pretty strong. I got to get down to, like, nine.

Kevin Hart: Nine is a strong number. I’m probably at about two hours of
“me time.”

What would you do if you had an entire week with no responsibilities, no obligations, just straight-up “me time”?

Kevin Hart: Go to church.

Mark Wahlberg: Absolutely. Praying for people.

Kevin Hart: Praying for people and…

Mark Wahlberg: And just go on a “Saving the Slugs” campaign.

Kevin Hart: Yeah, yeah, there you go. I am doing a bunch of good. If I had any time like that to myself, I would just want to help people and make them happy!
