Fat Joe Talks To Apple Music About His Friendship With Jennifer Lopez And How Inspirational She Is…
I just say J.Lo, when I saw this movie in the movie theatre and I didn’t know what to expect. I knew it was going to be great, but at the end of the scene where you’re dancing, it just felt so inspirational to women across the world. And women who grew up with you, not even little kids, babies that their mothers are watching with them, it was just so powerful and impactful. And your relationship of going back to the Bronx, discovering the old you. And that’s how you save the heart machine. And so if you want me to tell you about J.Lo personally as a sister, she’s never let me down. She’s always been loyal to me through thick and thin. She’s always been there for me one million. She’s one person I know got my back. Even though I don’t ask her for nothing, but I know she got my back 100%. And I’m just proud of her and her work ethic. Even now because yo, Jenny, you’ve been working. I’m watching. I’m watching you work, doing the rounds, doing this, doing that. You acting like, woo. This the artists of today, the new artists, they’re not working you. They’re just not working like you.
Jennifer Lopez Talks To Apple Music About How Her Musical Original “This Is Me…Now” Film Is Breaking All The Rules…
There are no rules now. And I think it’s this generation because it’s a tech generation so there’s all these
possibilities to do all kinds of different things and you have to be open to things changing. They’ve changed since we first started you know, and it’s like, are you gonna get stuck in how things used to be or are you going to evolve with it? I mean, because of that I’m able to make a musical original, we don’t have a name for, this is a new thing, right. I couldn’t do that years ago because the movie would’ve had to have been two hours or I would’ve had to be on MTV or it had to do this or… It’s not that anymore. Now when you do things like that people will be like “I don’t know what you’re talking about we’re not doing that.”But what I did, and this allowed me freedom right, was to go “all right if you don’t want to do this because I can’t quite get you to understand what it is because it hasn’t been done before, I will do it myself, and this is this generation, I will do it myself and then I will show you. And then you tell me if you feel it has worth or value for your platform for your this or whatever, right. And that’s how we wound up doing it. I think it’s very exciting, it’s an exciting time like the Wild West you know what I mean? You find your way, you put down your flag and this is mine.
