Motown’s TheHxliday Showcases Versatility on Two-Part EP ‘The Most Beautiful Disaster’
Tomorrow, Motown Recording artist TheHxliday will release a two-part project entitled “The Most Beautiful Disaster.”
A hyper-creative and complex artist, TheHxliday showcases his more vulnerable side on “Beautiful,” the EP’s first part, while “Disaster” includes harder tracks like the hit single “Wit Dat” featuring Polo G.
Also tomorrow May 14th, in support of the release TheHxliday kicks off an immersive 180-degree Verizon concert performance. He’ll be playing tracks from “The Most Beautiful Disaster,” using advanced content production technology at Verizon’s 5G Lab in Los Angeles. Tune in at 6:30PM ET and check out his pre-interview below.
“The Most Beautiful Disaster” arrives as the follow-up to TheHxliday’s acclaimed EP “Batbxy,” which dropped on New Year’s Day.
TheHxliday lets his sensitivity shine on the five unforgettable tracks that comprise Beautiful, such as the piano-laced opening track “A New Life.” The EP’s first half also includes the 19-year-old artist’s latest single “Salsa,” a dance-bop that expertly blends trap and pop with a Latin twist.
TheHxliday states;
“This is my first time doing a project like this. I wanted it to have a balance of good and bad energy. If you listen it’s a story where it starts off light and gets deeper and darker as you dive in.”
“The Most Beautiful Disaster” finds TheHxliday speaking on topics expected for a young man of Gen Z. Where he narrows off a bit to what we’re use to, is when he touches on sensitive topics such as mental health.
UB’s hot track is “miSSed Calls,” a some what seductive R&B track with elements of a Teddy Ryley remix, that shows off TheHxliday’s vocal range. As he shares on the track; “I just wanna tell you I care, Yeah I got more love to share.“
His flows are rhythmic, with lyrics that stretch the average train of thought. Another hot track is “19,” the beats goes hard, with a numeric melody for the ages.
TheHxliday isn’t afraid to tap into his feelings. Equal parts introspective and inspiring, the 19-year-old artist is very comfortable with the concept of openness. Through his pop-infused hip-hop, TheHxliday showcases his approach to understanding and digesting life.
TheHxliday got serious about music at age 13, after his mom, who was in an alt-rock band called Chick Flick, introduced him to GarageBand and showed him how to loop beats. With music in his bloodline and an incredibly wide-ranging array of genres in his headphones—his favorite artists. He refined and established his own sound across a year of making music in his bedroom.
TheHxliday has combined his passion for rock, pop, hip-hop and R&B and created a mercurial style, that refuses to be boxed into any genre. That approach is what drives the two-part EP, “The Most Beautiful Disaster.”
