Stream Johnny Gill’s New Album ‘Game Changer II’

Johnny Gill has released one of the best R&B albums of the year, with his newest release “Game Changer II,” available now via J Skillz/Kavalry Records. “Game Changer II” is a variety of unique instant classics including the Latin energy of “Fiesta” featuring Grammy-nominated percussionist queen Sheila E. & Carlos Santana, the Reggae-tinged love song “Best Thing” as well as “Favorite Girl” – all produced by Grammy Award winning producer/musician/songwriter Blac Elvis out of Atlanta. A surefire standout is “That’s My Baby,” a sumptuous and harmonically sophisticated tribute to one of Johnny’s greatest musical heroes, Luther Vandross, produced by Ralph Stacy.

“Sometimes being an O.G., you don’t get celebrated. You get penalized,” Johnny told ABC News.

“Some are like ‘He’s too old.’ So to find yourself still having a place in this game, where you can still compete and make great music, it’s an indication to allow people to know that it’s being played all over the world. It’s being accepted by our peers. It’s a blessing.”

For Johnny‘s latest single “Perfect, featuring Ralph Tresvant, he initially wanted an “all-star” lineup. Charlie Wilson, Keith Sweat and Ralph Tresvant. However he was unable to get Charlie‘s and Keith‘s verses in on time.
