Its mission is to celebrate Black culture by recognizing individuals, movies and television shows that have had a significant impact on American entertainment.
The 2017 ABFF Honors will air Tonight on BET and Centric, at 8:00PM ET. The event is hosted by actress/director Regina Hall.

Actor/director Denzel Washington “Hollywood Legacy”
Musician/actress Queen Latifah “Entertainment Icon”
Actor Terrence Howard “Excellence in the Arts”
Writer/producer/actress Issa Rae “Rising Star”
Film director/producer F. Gary Gray “Excellence in the Arts”
There will be special appearances by Viola Davis, Common, Pharrell, Jay Ellis, Kofi Siroboe, Lee Daniels, Alexandra Shipp, Morris Chestnut, Omari Hardwicj, Dionne Farris, Kylie Bunbury, Nia Long, Larenz Tate, Luke James and more.
In addition, there will be a special appearance by some of Young Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Jay Ellis (Insecure, The Game), Kofi Siriboe (Queen Sugar), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse, Straight Outta Compton) and Kylie Bunbury (Pitch).
“BET Presents the American Black Film Festival Honors” is executive produced by ABFF Ventures founder Jeff Friday, Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones for de Passe Jones Entertainment, Jesse Collins for Jesse Collins Entertainment, and Connie Orlando, Stephen G. Hill and Debra Lee for BET Networks.
