UB Honors 2023: SZA Leads with 6 Nominations + Voting Begins

Nominations Announced and Voting Begins for UB Honors 2023!

Online urban entertainment fans will be able to start voting Today (vote below) until December 10th and the winners will be announced December 15th!

For the very first time, this years nominations also includes television and film.

This years nominations are led by SZA, who garnered six nominations, including Artist of The Year, Best R&B Female Artist, and Best Visual of The Year for “Kill Bill.” Beyoncé follows with five nominations, including Artist of the Year and Best R&B/Single of The Year with “Cuff It.”

Usher, Ari Lennox and newcomer October London all received four nominations, with Chris Brown, Coco Jones and Summer Walker each earning three nods this year.

Other artists nominated in music include; Nicki Minaj, Muni Long, NBA YoungBoy, Fridayy, Janelle Monáe, Nappy Roots, Goapele, Hit-Boy and Maverick City Music.

In television and film “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” leads with four nominations, including best television series, best actress and best actor. “Average Joe” follows with three nominations.

Other television and film nominees include, Michael B. Jordan, Eddie Murphy, Shanola Hampton, Loretta Devine and Tyler Lepley.

Nominees were chosen from releases between September 2022 to October 2023.
