Emerging Artist SASH Drops Hot Debut EP + ‘biscayne’ Visual
Emerging artist SASH has released his hot debut project, “Bittersweet,” via Apex Sound.
The 6-song project, produced with Apex Martin and Mike Dean, comes on the heels of SASH’s debut single “lemon sorbet.” Released in November to widespread acclaim.
Along with “Bittersweet,” SASH released a stunning visual for “biscayne.” The video is shot entirely on film and highlights SASH’s moody aesthetic. “Visually, I’ve pushed for everything I put out to look like a 70s Al Pacino film, a Serpico-esque depiction of New York,” states SASH.
“Write a letter to my old self, know you don’t want no help
High is where your head’s held, you should take it
Promises get broken, know your path is chosen”
“Bittersweet is a batch of songs about finding beauty in darkness. It points to the dualities of there being no pleasure without pain, no virtue without vice, and no sweet without sour. We’re going to be dropping a project every few months – we’re getting into a cycle.”
Darkness and sophistication make up the foundation of SASH’s sound, his look, his attitude and his art. Uncompromising and unyielding, the New York City-bred artist makes “Music-Noir.”
As the first signee to Apex Sound, SASH worked closely with Mike Dean and Apex Martin on this record. The trio used this project as an opportunity to hone in on SASH’s signature style, combining moody, melodic vocals with modern hip-hop production to create his unique sound.
